How to choose your place of birth?

Choose their place of birth is a couple of questions ... Indeed, parental expectations with regard to the delivery location are very different!

Some couples want a medical environment, others seek a more natural approach especially with a home birth or in nature.

Today, we speak of "the emotional security of the parents." It becomes as important as medical care.

And for you, what are the criteria to choose your place of birth: the city, the natural side, the proximity, the medical team, comfort, childbirth managed from a friend?

The home birth

More and more women do not want too medicalized childbirth and prefer to let nature giving birth at home. Most of our parents have not born that way?

Some numbers

The home birth or AAD is a social phenomenon, a priori safe in 80% of cases. Women want to live a more intimate delivery and desire "to reclaim the birth of their baby. "There is a genuine relationship based on trust between the midwife and the mother who wished to live a highlight on the human and emotional level.

The Netherlands and the UK, home birth is rooted in the mentality of birth. According to studies by France-Culture-proven "the security level is the same at home and in the hospital"

In the Netherlands, 30% of women give birth at home against only 0.2% of women in France. (In Ardèche, home birth has reached 8%). 70% of women give birth in hospitals under the sole supervision of a midwife.

The practices and conditions of the AAD

There is no legislation surrounding home birth is the reason why the National Association of Liberal Midwives (ANSFL) established a Charter home birth setting out the conditions that make it possible or not.

This text stipulates that home birth is for physiological pregnancies (normal) and women in good health, both physical and psychological.

The AAD is excluded in the following situations:
- Diabetes type of disease or hypertension
- twin pregnancy
- Previous caesarean section
- Presentation of breech baby
