10 tips to prepare for the school year
Summer holidays, it's nice! Two months to rest, have
fun ... But a few days before the start, it is important to find a rhythm
adapted to this academic recovery and to organize well to avoid stress. Our
advices.
1. We set the record straight!
• A good week before the start of the school year, it
is useful to put back in place a certain regularity in the sleep schedules.
Advance gradually (about 15 minutes) the bedtime, but also that of the alarm
clock. And no exception last weekend. This will disturb your child's rhythm
again and may be delayed for the first day of school.
2. At mealtimes too ...
• Summer is often synonymous with meal times a little
off. Again, enjoy this last week to resume a pace close to that of the school
year. Eat earlier and at regular times. Take the opportunity to put
"shape" in the plate of your future schoolboy by proposing a
well-balanced diet. A tip? Sprinkle dishes and desserts with yeast or wheat
germ, concentrated in vitamins and minerals anti-stress.
3. We move!
• In the morning, it is also necessary for your child
to get back into the habit of being active as soon as possible after waking up,
once he has had breakfast. This may be a family outing, a ball game in the
garden or other, the main thing is to move.
• In the evening, however, promote calm. No
stimulating activity after 8 pm, but instead make the most of the evening story
or hugs.
4. We store the books and leave the books on
the school
• Even if the school year is approaching, your child
is still on vacation, let him enjoy his last days of tranquility ... If you
worked together regularly during the summer, he will be ready and if you did
not do it, he is a little too late to start. On the other hand, it's time to
offer him books about the school. It's reassuring to see that his favorite hero
is also concerned by this big day ...
5. Supplies, we are at the point
• Do not wait until the last minute to buy school
supplies. You could find some empty shelves and, in addition, it promotes
stress! For supplies, there is no question of giving in to all his requests,
but it is important for your child to choose at least one favorite item, be it
the binder of his dreams or the kit with the image of his favorite hero.
6. Fall back wardrobe ... not necessarily
for D-day
• You have, of course, bought novelties for his
back-to-school wardrobe, but for D-Day, it's best to wear clothes he already
knows and feels comfortable with. This will help reassure him. Except, of
course, if he absolutely wants to put on the new T-shirt with which he will
feel stronger!
7. Go back to school, yes, but fit!
• Vaccinations, sight or hearing problems, caries ...
Back to school is the perfect time to check that your child is doing well. Take
advantage of the last days of the holidays to make an appointment with the
pediatrician or doctor. This will allow your schoolboy to start the year in
great shape! Also consider the medical certificates needed for certain sports
activities.
8. Everyone is reassured ...
• Everyone because, admit it, this return is also a
moment of stress for you. The more you will be serene, the more your child will
consider this return in a positive way. If he enters a new school, enjoy open
houses to plan a visit. If there are none, make an appointment with the
principal and take your child to visit the premises. To reassure him, tell him
also about everything he will do at school as cool activities, his friends he
will find or new ones he will do.
• D-Day, if you can, try to accompany him or his dad.
For the little ones, do not forget the precious blanket! For older children, it
is possible to slip in the briefcase a small reassuring object (photo,
handkerchief of mom, little toy fetish ...).
9. D-day, we're ready!
• Anticipate is the key to a successful start. No
question of being overwhelmed the big day. To save time, prepare his schoolbag
and his outfit the day before, with him. This will avoid a possible early
conflict over the choice of pants or dress. Also think of preparing the day
before the breakfast table. Give him a breakfast complete with, on the menu,
calcium, vitamin C, proteins ... And show him the example by not doing yourself
the impasse on this important meal.
10. Exceptional day ... but no exception
