6 golden rules to give your baby a bottle of milk

6 golden rules to give your baby a bottle of milk

In the first few months, your baby will take six to eight bottles a day. At this rate, you will quickly become a pro. Our six great tips for giving baby a good bottle.

How to give the bottle to baby in six tips

Find a comfortable position to give the bottle The feeding is a moment of pleasure and sharing with his child. That's why you have to sit comfortably, in a chair if possible, so as not to tire you too much. The ideal is to be in a semi-sitting position and to favor a quiet place. Do not forget to wash your hands thoroughly first.

Hold your baby in the arms

Take your baby on your lap and hold it well in the crook of your arm. He must be in a semi-reclining position and facing you so that you can look at yourself. Do not tighten it too hard to keep a certain freedom of movement.

Offer the bottle to baby

To be sure the milk is not too hot, put a few drops on the inside of your wrist. Then gently bring the baby's bottle to the lips of your child, caressing them. He will naturally take the pacifier in his mouth, against his palate.

Check the bottle nipple

The pacifier must always be full of milk so that it swallows as little air as possible. For this, tilt the bottle well, almost vertically. A trick: the presence of small bubbles rising to the surface in the bottle means that the milk flows as it should. If this is not the case, or if you see that your child is having trouble breastfeeding, loosen the bottle ring.

Take your time to give the bottle

Each baby drinks at his own pace. Do not hesitate to take small breaks. Why not two or three if he drinks quickly. There is no obligation to this, it is up to you to find the right pace and to best grant you with your child.

Help her baby to burp

Generally, most babies burst within ten minutes of the end of their bottle. But you can do a little break while you're breastfeeding so that you have a first burp before taking a bottle, and then a second one at the end. To help him, hold him straight against you and if the burp does not come, gently pat his back with your hand.
